Dermal Fillers are clear medical gels that are based on hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar which is normally found in the skin and has many purposes, including keeping the skin hydrated. Over time the hydraulic acid in our skin diminishes as we age.

Dermal Fillers offer the complete solution and treatment choice for men and women seeking to hold back the years and refresh their looks subtly and naturally. They literally plump out the targeted areas of skin and facial features, hydrating them in the process. These pleasant rejuvenating results apply to lip fillers and cheek fillers alike. Here at ANP Skin Clinic, we have access to a range of Dermal Fillers from different manufacturers. Whilst they are all based on hyaluronic acid, they each have their own particular qualities. We select the best product to offer you the maximum benefits. anp-123

FAQs

Does it hurt?

No, we’re not just saying this; many of our clients are amazed at how pain and hassle-free Dermal Filler treatment actually is. Your comfort is our priority at ANP Skin Clinic, which is why our practitioners will outline everything you can expect during the treatment process.

How many treatments would I need?

Dermal Fillers are such an attractive treatment option as their impressive lifespan means they can last for up a year and a half. However, the body does slowly break down the Filler over 18 months so it is always a good idea to renew the Filler once every 12 months to keep up the desired appearance. When you start having Dermal Filler you are creating a solid foundation for a smooth and healthy looking complexion. Contact ANP Skin Clinic on info@anpskinclinics.co.uk or on 01422 412 034 to book your follow up treatment in 6 to 12 months to continue feeling your best!

What can I expect before, during and after the treatment?

Dermal fillersBefore the treatment, a medical history and consent are taken, during the in-depth personal consultation that is conducted by our expert to paint an accurate picture of your skin’s type and needs. Some Dermal Fillers contain a local anaesthetic which makes the whole experience more comfortable during and after the procedure.

The hyaluronic acid gel is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gentle substance can be injected straight into a fold of skin or wrinkle to immediately fill the area, a change that you can even witness right before you eyes in the mirror as the treatment takes place! The gel provides hydration and structure and gives natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines, enhancing the facial shape by softening facial contours, hydrating/moisturising the skin or creating fuller lips.

What makes Dermal Fillers such an attractive option is that treatment is very quick and often takes less than 30 minutes- meaning, in the hands of an experienced and qualified practitioner like ANP Skin Clinic staff, Dermal Filler treatment can be safely and comfortably carried out during your lunch break!

The treatment benefits of lines and wrinkles on your face disappearing can normally be seen instantly and do not affect facial expression. And the real beauty of the treatment? Others will clock that you look spectacular on a sub-conscious level but consciously it won’t be obvious that you have had Dermal Filler treatment. You look completely natural, so much so that your friends and family will be quizzing you about where you’ve been on holiday with you looking so radiant and relaxed.

Aftercare for this treatment includes avoiding touching the parts of your face that have been treated for 6 hours and, unless it is mineral makeup, steering clear of putting on makeup for at least 12 hours. It is also highly recommended not to visit a sauna, Turkish bath or sunbed for a fortnight as it is not advised to expose the treated part of your skin to extremely high or low temperatures until the initial redness or swelling has gone down. Your practitioner will talk you through any aftercare requirements.

Is it right for me?

Dermal Fillers, including lip fillers and cheek fillers, are a good option for those wishing to reduce the fine lines or wrinkles on their face but do not wish to have surgery. The treatment is much less invasive and a more cost-effective choice than a surgical volume whilst still being effective at renewing lost volume and collagen to your facial profile. Dermal Fillers are normally appropriate for a wide range of skin types, leaving skin looking firmer and your complexion level but, most importantly, natural! Suitability for treatment will be assessed during your personal and thorough consultation with our expert.

What are the risks?

Dermal Filler treatment is largely safe but please note if you are currently taking aspirin or other similar medication, you may be more prone to bruising. On the whole, the treatment is free of serious risks. Straight after treatment, you might experience some tenderness, redness, numbness and bruising and itching sensations. Don’t worry, these side-effects are completely normal consequences of the injection and usually vanish after a couple of days and after a week following lip treatment.

You can always ask our experienced and qualified practitioners if you have any worries or concerns.
