If you are looking for  a gradual, longer lasting result to ageing then Sculptra treatment may be suitable for you.

Collagen is the substance your body produces to give your skin a firm and youthful appearance.

But from an early age the amount you produce slows down and facial volume is lost. Sculptra®

can redress the balance and help you achieve the natural look you want, to reflect how you feel.

How it works: Sculptra® works differently from traditional fillers. It’s a unique collagen replenishing treatment that helps to gradually and subtly reduce lines, wrinkles and folds. By helping to replenish your own facial collagen and restore lost volume, it can give you a fuller, more natural look that can last for up to 25 months.

Suitable areas for Sculptra:
Sculptra® treats most areas of your face that may be concerning you, particularly deeper lines, wrinkles and folds. On average, 3 treatments are required and results should be noticeable after approximately 6 weeks (however, in some patients this may take longer or require more treatments)

Does the treatment hurt? As with all injections you will probably feel some discomfort. You may even notice a brief burning sensation at the injection site.

What about afterwards? For optimum results it is important to massage the treatment area twice daily for one month.

What about side effects? The most common side effects with the use of Sculptra® include bleeding, tenderness or pain, redness bruising or swelling at the site of the injection. These side affects generally resolve in 2-6 days. One possible delayed side effect can be small bumps under the skin in the treated area. These small bumps may not be visible, and you may notice them only wen you press on the treated sin. As with all procedures that involve a injection through the skin, there is a risk of infection.

Side effects can be avoided or reduced if you follow your proper aftercare tips. Results vary between individuals, depending upon a number of factors and, similar to other treatments, results cannot be guaranteed.

FAQ’s

Is this treatment suitable for me?

It is  not advisable if you are pregnant, breast feeding, over 65 years old or suffer with a neuromuscular disorder.

What happens when I have a treatment?

The nurse will decide which muscles should be treated to give the result you want to achieve. A full medical history and consent are taken.  Most people do not report any pain only a slight sting. A small fine needle is used and the treatment only takes a few minutes.

Is it safe?

Treatments have been performed  aesthetically for over 10 years with no serious side effects. There may be slight swelling or redness around the injection site for a short time and some people complain of a mild headache. There is a possible temporary side effect which causes drooping of the eyelid. This rare effect is temporary and will resolve on its own.

The V effect volume formation can be achieved with the dermal filler Radiesse. When Radiesse is injected into the skin the gel – matrix of calcium microspheres pushes up the contour deficits, providing a lifting effect and giving instant volume. And for even greater benefit, the calcium microspheres stimulate the production of your own natural collagen, which will further build the volume to achieve the V  effect.

A Young face has a ‘V’ shape

The younger the face, the firmer the skin and the more defined the contours. The face is symmetrical and ‘V’ shaped.

With aging the ‘V’ turns upside down

Regardless of how good our genes are, all types of skin eventually lose their tone. Proportions shift and volume reduces. Cheeks sink downwards, the chin goes limp and the face becomes broader towards the bottom. The result: the youthful ‘V’ slowly turns upside down and our age becomes increasingly visible – regardless of how young we feel.

What is the secret of turning the ‘V’ back?

The V effect is the key to restoring a youthful look. Instead of treating the individual wrinkles, the face needs real revolumising. With the right volume and the right proportion, the face will regain the optimum ‘V’ shape, and the wrinkles and sagging will naturally reduce.
