FAQ’s
Are dermal filler treatments suitable for me?
Dermal fillers are a good option for those wishing to reduce the fine lines or wrinkles on their face but do not wish to have surgery.
Dermal fillers are normally appropriate for a wide range of skin types. Suitability for treatment will be assessed during your consultation.
What happens when I have the treatment?
Before the treatment a medical history and consent is taken, local anaesthetic is used to make the procedure more comfortable. Some dermal fillers contain a local anaesthetic which makes the whole experience more comfortable during and after the procedure. The hyaluronic acid gel is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gel provides hydration and structure and gives natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines, enhance facial shape, or create fuller lips.
Depending on the filler used and the condition of your skin, the effects can last up to one year. The treatment is very quick and often takes less than 30 minutes. The treatment benefits can normally be seen instantly and do not affect facial expression. After treatment there may be swelling, bruising or tenderness around the treated area. If this does occur, it usually resolves in a matter of hours.
Are they safe?
None of the dermal fillers that we use contain animal or bacteria derived products and so do not cause allergic reactions. Once in place, they are slowly absorbed and naturally cleared by the body.
How do I know what type of filler I need?
The best product for you will depend on your area of concern and what you hope to achieve. The options will be discussed fully during your consultation to help you chose the right treatment for you.
How much does it cost?
This depends on the amount and type of filler.
